We’ve had a “season one trailer” posted here before, about a year ago — but that one was kind of thrown together at the last minute to show at our lobby table at Norwescon, and … [ read more » ]

It’s the year 2531 and Dr. Genesee is about to start a new life. This is the prequel mini-episode we’ve been talking about for a year now. We’re VERY proud of it, and hope … [ read more » ]
Anyone who’s ever worked in film/television knows that days are long, night shoots feel even longer, and questionable things happen after midnight. During the night shoot for our “Dr. Genesee Mini-Sode” we spent some time … [ read more » ]

…but it’s alive and well in Nelson, New Zealand. That's my cousin Sam riding shotgun through time with me! I’ll have more fun stuff from my South Island adventure (which was largely without wifi) but I thought you guys would like this one first. See you soon! [ read more » ]
OK, this is like a week old now, but in case you hadn’t heard… Whoa, China. What are you trying to hide? I’ll admit, the headline is a little misleading, because they didn’t actually ban the act of time traveling (I’d be pretty bummed if they had it for a while, and didn’t tell anyone until they decided to outlaw it!), they banned the creation of time-travel themed entertainment. It’s not clear if they also banned viewing time-travel related material, so we’ll just have to see if Causality can … [ read more » ]
It’s true, I have been relatively silent for the past few weeks since I was rehearsing and then performing in some one acts for the XX Fest at Seattle’s Stone Soup theatre. (Have I mentioned that theatre is a lot of work?) But, some really cool things have still been happening in the world of Causality too. One of them is the interview that I did for the folks from Spidvid.com and their “Spidcast” podcast. In case you don’t know, Spidvid is a really cool site that helps creative people … [ read more » ]
I didn’t really do much the past couple days (it’s a vacation! I can sleep any time I want!) but I did see a play at the fabulous BATS Theatre with my cousin Dave, who also works in theater and film. Once a year they do a horror fest called STAB. But the day before or so I visited the Roxy Cinema, which has recently been restored to polished-wood-and-brass glory by Jamie Selkirk and Sir Richard Taylor of Miramar/Weta. That's real light, not digital light! *ding!* The best part, though, … [ read more » ]
Here’s the thing, and you need to understand this: All writers are liars. It’s what we do. It’s what you come to us for, in fact — you want us to lie to you, to tell you about things that never happened and people who never existed. You want us to lie to you so well that you believe in it, at least enough to feel happy when good things happen to the imaginary people we make you care about, to feel sad when they struggle and fail. I am … [ read more » ]
So we visited the Karori Sanctuary, a 500-year project to restore the temperate rainforest inside Wellington, where we saw some flightless birds, lizards, and giant bugs, plus very large ferns and deadly mushrooms. A suspension bridge over the valley. I admit: hilly green places make me feel quite at home. Amanita muscaria. Don't eat it. Really. Then we went to the Weta Cave (not to be confused with the cave where weta live). I saw Gollum, Lurtz, that dog from The Frighteners, Jane from Jane and the Dragon, and lots … [ read more » ]

Hey, Time Travelers! Just wanted to let you know that I arrived in Wellington on a beautiful, sunny day, and we spent some time walking around the little nooks and crannies. Before I arrived in NZ I had to go back in time and solve a thing. I’ve never been in a more walkable city. I was wondering why there were a bunch of cosplayers hanging around the waterfront, until I learned that the nerds were in town. And I had forgotten my Causality handbills at the house! Oh, well, … [ read more » ]
You may have heard by now: my father has died. I wrote briefly about him and his illness in January. When we — artists, writers — talk about grief, particularly fresh grief, it’s nearly impossible to write anything that’s not alienatingly personal. Joan Didion notwithstanding, most memoirs of people’s lives after the death of a loved one are terrible. As in not good. To that end…I tried to have something to say, but right now I don’t. Maybe later. It doesn’t really matter, anyway: what I have to say about grief is more useful … [ read more » ]
Ok, It’s above my head, but he seems to know what he’s talking about… We might need to get this kid to consult with us as we develop the mechanics of time travel technology for Causality. Montoure, can you follow what he’s talking about? I read Stephen Hawking’s “Universe” and “A Brief History of Time”, but never quite made it to applied Astrophysics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irIZqskssrw [ read more » ]
