We’ve had a “season one trailer” posted here before, about a year ago — but that one was kind of thrown together at the last minute to show at our lobby table at Norwescon, and … [ read more » ]

Hey Time Travelers! Not much to report this week: Team Causality has been busy getting all our ducks in a row so that we can start shooting the bulk of the season this autumn. But if you want some webseries goodness to tide you over, I highly recommend Standard Action. It’s a hilariously meta-nerd commentary on classic tabletop gaming, with a surprisingly deep core and excellent characters. Trust me: if you listen to Podcast to the Past, you know that I hate (most) things, but I love this. Watch the … [ read more » ]
“Those two things, being homeless and working at Pike Place Market, are not exclusive.” “We’re totally allowed to offend Nazis!” “I grew up listening to Squirrel Nut Zippers and Star Wars soundtracks, so I didn’t really have any pop culture …. ” “Were you, like, an experiment?“ “I can assure you, I made absolutely certain when I was setting up the podcast stream that all of them were flagged as, you know, not work-appropriate. I didn’t even listen to any of the podcasts before I … [ read more » ]

But what they did have was lots of government money and a mandate from the president to complete the task before the decade was out. Besides, we’re not the “space” kind of sci fi…we’re “speculative fiction.” Our only mandate is from ourselves, and there are no government (or other) … [ read more » ]
“Nerdgasms can be incredibly powerful.” “Watching dark stuff or reading dark things, when you are young and and you are going through that is so important. That’s how we learn to survive.” Welcome back for Episode 3, Part 2! (I’m still finding this numbering scheme deeply confusing, but I’m trying to roll with it. Join writer and actor Glynis Mitchell, composer Jesse Plack, and actress Carolynne Wilcox as they discuss Carnivale, why it was canceled too soon, and why they think it would have found an audience in … [ read more » ]
Anyone who’s ever worked in film/television knows that days are long, night shoots feel even longer, and questionable things happen after midnight. During the night shoot for our “Dr. Genesee Mini-Sode” we spent some time in a soundproof padded cell, questioned a decidedly low-tech, high tech device, and finally relaxed with a beloved breakfast cereal. Add some psychedelic 70′s rock, and oh yeah, RUSSIANS! What could be better? [ read more » ]
“Two ladies, talking nerdy. One guy, drooling uncontrollably.” “So now we’ve established that Jesse and I are going to do drugs together.” “If I were Flavor Flav, I would have to be delicious constantly.” Join writer and actor Glynis Mitchell, composer Jesse Plack, and actress Carolynne Wilcox for Episode III, part I of PODCAST TO THE PAST, as they discuss Jesse’s terrible caffeine habit, bring up Jeri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew of Voyager, delve into Farscape, and, of course, talk about absinthe. They also start to talk about Carnivale, … [ read more » ]
