Progress!

As you might have guessed, when you take as long as we have to create something, things change a lot. Over the course of almost 2 years now, there have been deaths, breakups, hookups, fights, makeups, hurt feelings, frustration, elation, despair, and hope. Just like a normal family (then again, what family is actually “normal”? Is that even a real thing, a normal family?)

Anyway, this family has lost some members and gained even more. Well, we haven’t actually “lost” any, there are just some who won’t be working with us anymore. They’re still part of the family, and we know we haven’t seen the last of them.

So who are the new family members? We’ve got a new director of Photography, Seth Wessel-Estes (who also shot “Glitch“, another awesome Seattle webseries that we’ve talked about before.) We’ve also got a new Assistant Director, Autumn Perotta. She will DEFINITELY help keep things on track, something that makes things run so much smoother on set. Those two have also brought many more colleagues along, including a storyboard artist (can you say “additional website content”? YEE-HAH!”), a gaffer, and many more. We’ll be updating our Credits page with their names soon.

We’ll also be adding some new cast members, to be announced soon, and we’re holding a table read on Oct. 7 for all the cast & crew who can make it. Shooting is tentatively scheduled to resume on October 13, and to continue through weekends in October. Hopefully we’ll have a lot of updates for you as these things progress. We also have been giving Causality updates on our podcast, Podcast to the Past, so you can listen there for that, as well as for our ramblings about pop culture and sci fi.

Well, that’s it for now…stay tuned for more updates, and hopefully a guest blog or two. And as always, thanks for joining us on the ride!

Wait. Hookups? When? And why didn’t *I* get any? I’m their boss, after all! Unless you and Montoure hooked up, but that would just be weird.

Too weird. We did not. And it still counts as a hookup if the person you hooked up with isn’t on the team…yet.

Glad to hear your ramping up again. Will you be integrating your previously shot material (under the old DP) with the new material?

We’ll let you slide on the “youre/you’re” thing…this time.

And yes, we will be integrating the new material with the older material. I know, it can be scary to do that, but one of the things I did last night in a meeting with the new DP was show him a bunch of dailies from our other shoots so he could get a sense of the style. We will be adding his style to the show, but gradually, so that it is a smooth addition. The fact that it’s episodic works for that. We have shot scenes from multiple episodes, so there will be shots from both DP’s in probably the first 3-4 episodes, but there are fewer from the first DP as the season goes on. The best part about it all is we think we can really buckle down and get this done much faster than we have been.
