We’ve had a “season one trailer” posted here before, about a year ago — but that one was kind of thrown together at the last minute to show at our lobby table at Norwescon, and it mostly contained footage from the first episode. Yesterday, we got to premiere our new trailer to a surprisingly large and enthusiastic audience at Emerald City Comicon, and it got a great response — including from our cast and crew, who hadn’t had a chance to see it yet! This version has clips from scenes … [ read more » ]
It’s almost here! for those of you in Seattle who are attending Emerald City Comicon, here are the details on our special sneak preview panel, swiped straight from their programming grid: CAUSALITY: HOW TO MAKE A WEBSERIES AND NOT LOSE YOUR MIND Room: 3AB Start: 3:00PM End: 3:55PM Webseries: they are so in right now! “Causality” is a long-anticipated series debuting in 2013 after almost two years of hard work, setbacks, and major buzz. Why did it take this long? Was it worth it? How did we get through it? … [ read more » ]
Wow. It’s been a while since I posted. I’m actually too embarrassed to look back and see just how long. Suffice it to say, it’s been too long. I hope to make up for the lack of posting by sharing some GREAT stills from recent shoots. And some numbers. Now, I bet you’re like “What? Numbers?” How about more stills, fewer numbers.” Unless you’re some kind of math nerd, which is entirely possible, in which case you’re like “Get to the numbers already, enough with the yipyap!” At any … [ read more » ]
We’re finally back on track after the holidays with our first true winter shoot this past weekend: 1/12/13-1/13/13. This morning I feel hungover from the cold and the toll of some emotional scenes. Along with that, I also had pneumonia all of December, so…that was not cool, but I still got a ton of work done somehow during the fever. But this weekend we had not one but TWO great photographers taking behind the scenes pictures: Regan McStravic and Matthew Bodaly. I’ll be putting those out in the next couple … [ read more » ]
When I was sixteen years old, I started a Star Trek fan club. (And right now, you’re either laughing or you think I’m awesome. Or possibly both.) Wanting to attract new members, I got myself a lobby table at Norwescon. I put out my newsletters, some buttons, and a sign-up sheet, talked to people and answered questions, and sold memberships. Went pretty well. Now, this past weekend — about a quarter-century later — I found myself back behind a Norwescon lobby table again. Talk about time travel. In some ways, … [ read more » ]
Hey Time Travelers! As I said in a previous post, it’s convention season! With the Women in Webseries panel at Emerald City Comic Con* now over, we’re moving on to our lobby table at Norwescon 35. We’re pretty excited: we’ll have some free swag as well as tshirts for sale if you want to proudly display yourself as the first kid on the block to support Causality. Let’s look at that magnificent Genesee prequel again, shall we? The reason that our work is taking so long to come out is that this is what we … [ read more » ]
Convention season! It’s coming up fast, isn’t it? I’m going to be on another Women in Webseries panel at Emerald City Comic Con. There are going to be some wonderful, smart women there to talk about the webseries format, some of whom you may recognize from our Geek Girl Con panel. Thanks to our sponsors from Moon Bullet Studios, producers of The Collectables (which is having it’s world premiere at ECCC!), for setting that up! And we will have a Causality table at Norwescon 35, with swag, promotional video, info about … [ read more » ]
Ok, you probably would believe it. Most people reading this have likely been to lots of cons, and think it’s odd that these 2 were my first ever. So why the headline? I’ll confess I’ve been wanting to use that quote for some time. And perhaps I could have waited until I saw something truly outrageous that you actually WOULDN’T believe. But I didn’t. I love that scene from Blade Runner, and don’t apologize for working it in here. You can count on seeing the quote again, or hearing about it … [ read more » ]
