What did we cover in this episode? What DIDN’T we cover! -What’s new with the production of Causality? -What kind of Bachelorette party would Ralph plan for Glynis if she were getting married? -Did Glynis and her friend go on a “ride-along” with a call girl in Vegas? -Should Podcast to the Past hold an on-air Seance? We talked about some real topics too, like Blade Runner, 30 Rock, and Sciency science. Oh, and is Glynis unlikeable? Have a listen, then leave a comment to let us know what you … [ read more » ]

Not necessarily in that order. Think I’ll like this movie? Well, It’s directed by Ridley Scott, mentions androids, is in the universe of Alien, and THIS SHORT FILM IS A PREQUEL MINI-SODE JUST LIKE WE’RE MAKING FOR CAUSALITY! Yes, I think I will like it. Yes, yes I will. [ read more » ]
I’m going to start this off with a SPOILER ALERT! IF you haven’t seen Woody Allen’s new movie, “Midnight in Paris”, and if you think you might want to see it unencumbered by any spoilers, or the viewpoint of a random webseries director, then go see it, and read this after. If you don’t care to see it, don’t care if you know some stuff that happens in the movie before seeing it, or aren’t a Woody Allen fan, then read on. Wait, scratch the part about not being … [ read more » ]
Friday night at the Seattle Science Fiction Museum (@EMPSFM on Twitter), I got to see an advance screening of the movie “Radio Free Albemuth”, Written, Directed and Produced by John Alan Simon and co-produced by Twitter friend of Causality, Elizabeth Karr (@elizabethkarr). I first became aware of Philip K. Dick after being positively stunned by “Blade Runner” and then reading “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.” I know, that’s the most mainstream way to have been introduced to his work, but the truth is, that movie and the book it … [ read more » ]
While recording episode 2 (and 3) of our upcoming podcast, I realized that there is SO MUCH science fiction out there. There are the titles that have become mainstream, that even many who wouldn’t count themselves as fans of Sci Fi are very familiar with (Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, etc.) There are cultish titles that self-described geeks spend a ridiculous amount of time analyzing, wishing there were new installments of, talking about, and creating fan fiction/websites/art about (Firefly, Dune, etc.) Then there are the cross genre creations that are described … [ read more » ]
I’ll Admit, I was one of those people who watched the first few episodes of Stargate Universe, then stopped watching. Apparently, according to SYFY brass, that is one major reason why the series was now cancelled after 2 seasons. Now 2 seasons is a pretty respectable run these days, and since the Stargate franchise has been airing for the past 12 years, it’s hard to feel too bad for the Stargate casts, crew, fans or especially production team. The main producers had a hand in all of the Stargate … [ read more » ]
You know what? I don’t hate the fact that Alcon Entertainment/Warner Bros. are poised to get the rights to produce material based on the situations and possibly characters in Blade Runner. In case you didn’t know, the deal is very close to being signed, which means that it is very likely that in the not-too-distant future, there will be Blade Runner prequels or sequels. Don’t get me wrong, if I had heard that they were re-making the same story as the original, this post would be a lot different. I’m … [ read more » ]
While we were recording Podcast to the Past Episode Zero yesterday, I referenced this comic by the fabulous and unsinkable Kate Beaton. Since I have not watched Doctor Who since I was a kid (well, I saw a couple episodes a few years ago when I was really tired, that doesn’t count and anyway it was basically just like that), this is how I perceive it, too. Montoure and his vacation may disagree: he is our resident Doctor expert. As you will discover in the podcast, my expertise falls into the … [ read more » ]
