Seattle is one of the great loves of my life, so when Glynis mentioned to me that Causality, in addition to being about time-travel and strong, interesting characters, was also a love-letter to Seattle, I immediately jumped in with both feet. I grew up about an hour or so outside the city proper in unincorporated Kitsap County, on the edge of one of the last temperate rainforests on the planet. Five minutes from Chief Seattle’s grave. Ten minutes from “Laura’s Log“. I was tripping over roots in the woods as soon as I could walk and swimming in salt water as soon as I got over my fear of jellyfish. When I was preparing to move to New York City for conservatory, the guy who called me to set up student housing asked me: “So, Seattle, huh? Does it really rain all the time?
