We’ve had a “season one trailer” posted here before, about a year ago — but that one was kind of thrown together at the last minute to show at our lobby table at Norwescon, and … [ read more » ]

Anyone who’s ever worked in film/television knows that days are long, night shoots feel even longer, and questionable things happen after midnight. During the night shoot for our “Dr. Genesee Mini-Sode” we spent some time … [ read more » ]

Hey Time Travelers! Not much to report this week: Team Causality has been busy getting all our ducks in a row so that we can start shooting the bulk of the season this autumn. But if you want some webseries goodness to tide you over, I highly recommend Standard Action. It’s a hilariously meta-nerd commentary on classic tabletop gaming, with a surprisingly deep core and excellent characters. Trust me: if you listen to Podcast to the Past, you know that I hate (most) things, but I love this. Watch the … [ read more » ]
I haven’t posted in a while, because I haven’t had anything to say and I’d rather save my writing for working on the script. However, while refining the work with Montoure, I’ve been thinking. A lot. I’ll get to that later: first I want to share some awesome (and related) news. We’re going to GeekGirlCon! Well, I am for certain: I’m appearing on a Women in Webseries panel moderated by the ladies from Indie Intertube and featuring peers from all over North America. I’m so excited to meet these … [ read more » ]
I’ll Admit, I was one of those people who watched the first few episodes of Stargate Universe, then stopped watching. Apparently, according to SYFY brass, that is one major reason why the series was now cancelled after 2 seasons. Now 2 seasons is a pretty respectable run these days, and since the Stargate franchise has been airing for the past 12 years, it’s hard to feel too bad for the Stargate casts, crew, fans or especially production team. The main producers had a hand in all of the Stargate … [ read more » ]
Hey! Our friends in webseries land seem to be doing great for themselves right now: Weird, western mystery Western X won Best Fantasy Webseries at the Independent Film Quarterly Film Festival! Check out their episodes 1-3 — and their podcast, Men With No Lives. If you’re in the Southwest, they’ll be at Wild Wild West Con in Tuscon, Arizona this weekend. We love those guys, tell ‘em hi for us. And in a totally different vein, WORKSHOP the series will be premiering it’s second season this month on HULU! There’s a … [ read more » ]
You guys! I know you’ve totally seen Vampire Mob, right? What? You haven’t? March yourself right over there, Madam, Sir, or Other, and see what our friend Joe Wilson is doing. His webseries is funny, has top-notch talent, and is different than anything else we’re seeing that’s out there. He has also made a very brave decision that I applaud: he walked away from a full financial ride for Season 2 to stay independent. How badass is that? Unfortunately, VM starts shooting on March 7th with a budget shortfall. Not … [ read more » ]
At a meeting not long ago, Montoure said something along the lines of “When I originally conceived the idea for Causality, I figured it would be shot really simply with me and the actors taking turns running a consumer camera, then I’d learn to edit it using windows moviemaker or something, and maybe we’d show a few friends who are into stories like it.” (I apologize if I’ve misquoted the exact words, but I think I got the gist of the statement.) That’s where the idea started, but now it’s … [ read more » ]
